Miriam hired a contractor to finish an old house she bought for re-sale. The contractor finds hidden money in the floor boards he was fixing. He wants a fair share. Miriam wants to give him a small portion of it. They hire a lawyer to settle their differences. Unfortunately, a court must settle it. The judge gives most of the money to the heir. Miriam and the contractor are sad. The lawyer tells them they should have compromised and kept all the money, as no one would have known about it.

SONG: MONEY’S NOT YOURS

MONEY’S NOT YOURS

You bought an old house
“as is”, it’s yours
Remodeling, found money
Hidden in floors?

Money, money
Not yours?
The house contents
Could belong to heirs

If you tell
What you found
Courts will give it
Descendants abound

So don’t tell anyone
Say a lie
Secretly hidden is yours
Past owner died

Just fix the old house
Look for treasures
Long ago owner
Left unknown pleasures
