SYNOPSIS:

Jeanette Garrette, born in 1918, was a professional dancer by age five. She was known as “the Shirley Temple of Broadway” and had famous teachers, like Bo Jangles. When she finally moved from Canada, where she was born, to New York City, she was supporting her entire family financially with her dancing. The Rockefeller Center Music Hall opened in 1932 and Jeanette was the youngest dancer on opening night. She continued dancing for many different shows throughout the USA. In 1950, Jeanette age 32, quit performing and began teaching dance in her own school till she died in 2005 at age 87. Many of her students still have their own dreams of dance.
