LOG LINE:
On a whim and a prayer, two newspaper employees decide to paddle a canoe to the end of the Ohio River. The trip changes everything for them.

SYNOPSIS:

Cynthiana, a newspaper photographer, is fat, but a person who embraces change. A co-worker, press reporter, Rob, is weak and unsure of himself. Cynthiana convinces him to
take the river challenge – paddle a canoe 375 miles, camp the entire way, eat out of cans, sleep in a tent. Reluctantly, he agrees.

From the onset, the Ohio River adventure is beautiful, as well as dangerous. And to them, it seems like the entire Mid-West is behind the times. Cynthiana is smart and she’s done her research. She spouts historical information to Rob as they paddle. Most of the time he appreciates it.

They encounter many situations, that to the average person, would end the trip. Barges creating huge wakes, locks and dams requiring a “how-to”, threats to their lives, coming across many strange people, all make the trip one that changes, not only their physiques, but their attitudes on life.

The great accomplishment of reaching the end of the river is over-powering to them. They embrace it and they embrace each other. Love happens, which surprises both of them. They return to their newspaper jobs with a different view of everything.
