SYNOPSIS:

Red Crimson becomes a policeman, like his father. Red’s first murder case was Jenny Pagano’s, 1934. Jenny was nineteen, unmarried, pregnant, and Italian Catholic. This was a sin and her condition angered the people of Pleasantville. Her family suffered for this and were accused of killing Jenny in order to protect the family’s reputation and that of the entire Italian community. The non-Catholic politicians used this bias to bolster their governing positions. Red wants to solve this crime and prove to the people of Pleasantville that prejudice shouldn’t affect the solving of a murder. Red finds himself in opposition to another detective. Red does not survive the relationship. In his death, he struggles to find the killer or killers connected to the murder of Jenny, his father, and another girl, two years before. Red handles the detective who ended his life with a trade off. Red can not sleep eternally as other crimes need his help. He travels to other time periods, following his father’s directions.
